Quiet Night at the Manse

Filed under: Goth, Random, Trial Liturgy — Derek the Ænglican @ 7:32 pm

I didn’t have to work at my usual night job tonight…

So what are we up to? M+ and I are sitting in the office. I’m doing some PHP programming, she’s listening to some German industrial [Massiv in Mensch] which she’s periodically pausing while we stop and compare plainchant mass settings… (I think she’s working on a goth mass setting for those wondering…)

Ah, a normal night at the house.

  2. Actually, I think M said something about putting a team together to work on it… Give her a call…

  3. Goth Mass! I think some German industrial would also be in line. Do you think she could work in “engel” by Rammstein? It might even be good as a prelude.

Wer zu Lebzeit gut auf Erden
wird nach dem Tod ein Engel werden
den Blick gen Himmel fragst du dann
warum man sie nicht sehen kann

  4. LP, going along the same line as our thoughts on the problem of songs we know from other settings in the U2charist discussion, I think she’s composing a whole new setting. Just as plainchant samples are tracks are often used as background texture (Delirium, Enigma, some German stuff), I think she’s going to move it to the foreground and base the setting on classical plainchant with additional texture behind it. But that’s just my guess at the moment…
